What is Omega-3?

The Research Institute for Child Nutrition especially recommends rapeseed oil for baby nutrition, because of its high Omega-3 content, amongst other benefits.

We all know that what matters most for the healthy development of a baby is the love and care of their parents. Only babies who receive loving attention and active support in discovering their small world will be able to develop their full physical and mental potential. However, it is just as evident that the correct supply of nutrients within a balanced diet is also of great importance.

So-called Omega-3 fatty acids are receiving more and more attention. In infancy, they are especially important for the normal development of brain and nerve cells. In the first two years of life, the brain grows unusually fast, so the regular intake of Omega-3 fatty acids is particularly important.

One of the best vegetable sources of Omega-3 fatty acids is rapeseed oil. Rapeseed oil contains particularly high amounts of Omega-3 – ten times more than olive oil, for example, and the favourable fatty acid structure of rapeseed oil is very effective in helping the body to process these essential Omega-3 fatty acids. A positive side effect is that rapeseed oil, used in baby food, is mild enough to not affect the taste of the food – a clear advantage for our little gourmets.

From 4 months you can already supply your baby with Omega-3 from organic rapeseed oil with HiPP Vegetables and Menus. Once again, HiPP underlines its claim to provide the best in baby food. HiPP’s organic follow-on milk also has valuable organic Omega-3. So you can be sure that your baby gets everything they need from the weaning food produced for their age group.

Here is a question for Claus Hipp:

Can you guarantee organic quality, even for rapeseed oil?

Yes, of course. Our commitment to organic food means that all ingredients are top organic quality. And that goes for rapeseed oil as well. This ensures that no genetically engineered produce is involved, in line with the Organic Farming Regulation. Personally, I think that genetically modified ingredients should not go into any food, let alone baby food

We vouch for this with our name.
